KERSEY, Pa. – Brockway’s Peter Grecco was named the District 9 Athletic Director of the Year for the 2023-24 school year at the annual District 9 Principals Meeting and Luncheon on Wednesday, April 17, at the Red Fern Inn in Kersey.
Grecco was chosen for the award by his fellow District 9 athletic directors.
“I am honored to receive this award,” Grecco said. “This award could go to anyone in the room. To be recognized by my fellow athletic directors like this is humbling.”
Grecco is in his 12th year at Brockway and his 13th overall as an athletic director having also served one year at DuBois Central Catholic.
“I can succeed at my job because of the great administration, support staff, and coaches here at Brockway,” Grecco said. “I especially want to thank the athletic and transportation secretary Danette Foradori. Without her help and support, I would not be able to do this.”
Grecco also serves as the Transportation Director at Brockway and as the Executive Director of the Education Foundation at Brockway.
“I also want to thank my wife, Ashley,” Grecco said. “She is my rock and without her standing with me in this job this award would not be possible. She is always there for me and our kids.”
A member of the District 9 committee, Grecco is the chairperson for both Wrestling and Softball and is the Athletic Directors chairperson, as well.
In 2018, Grecco was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association (PSADA) Regional Athletic Director of the Year and in 2021 he was the PSADA Distinguished Instructor of Coaching Education and Sports First Aid.
