CLARION, Pa. – Thanks to 11 Regional qualifiers, Clearfield won the 2024 District 9 2A individual wrestling team championship Saturday at PennWest Clarion’s Tippin Gym, while Brockway’s Blake Pisarchick became the 37th four-time District 9 champion and the 11th in Class 2A.
Clearfield scored 234 points while second-place Port Allegany had 186 points.
Pisarchick, meanwhile, became the third 2A four-time champion from Brockway and the first four-time champion since Brookville’s Owen Reinsel completed the feat in 2022, when he won the title at 127 pounds, 4-3, over Cranberry’s Elijah Brosius.
Pisarchick was named the Outstanding Wrestler, while Port Allegnay’s B.J. Greenman was named Coach of the Year.
Pisarchick also won D9 titles at 106 pounds in 2021, 113 pounds in 2022, and 114 pounds in 2023.
Joining Pisarchick on the top step of the podium were Cranberry’s Aiden Thompson (107 pounds), Cranberry’s Dalton Wenner (114 pounds), Clearfield’s Cash Diehl (121 pounds), Clearfield’s Colton Ryan (133 pounds), Brockway’s Parker Pisarchick (139 pounds), Brookville’s Cole Householder (145 pounds), Clearfield’s Brady Collins (152 pounds), Kane’s Reece Bechakas (160 pounds), St. Marys’ Andrew Wolfanger (172 pounds), Brookville’s Easton Belfiore (189 pounds), Brookville’s Gavin Hannah (215 pounds), and Port Allegany’s Carson Neely (285 pounds).
For Bechakas, a senior, and Householder and Collins, both juniors, it was their third consecutive D9 title each while Neely, Wenner, and Parker Pisarchick each won titles for the second time.
Bechakas’ other titles were at 145 pounds in 2022 and 152 pounds in 2023, Householder won at 120 pounds in 2022 and 127 pounds in 2023, and Collins won at 126 pounds in 2022 and 139 pounds in 2023.
Neely defended his title from last year a 285 pounds, while Wenner won at 114 pounds in 2023 and Parker Pisarchick won at 139 pounds in 2023.
