
CLARION, Pa. – The Karns City, Keystone, and Clarion-Limestone girls, and the Elk County Catholic and Redbank Valley boys’ won District 9 basketball titles on Saturday at PennWest Clarion’s Tippin Gym.
Karns City started the day out with a 43-19 win over Cranberry to win the Class 3A girls’ title. It was the fourth title in a row for the Lady Gremlins.
Keystone then beat Kane, 53-46, to win the Class 2A girls’ championship. It was Keystone’s first championship since 2021.
C-L topped Elk County Catholic, 45-34, to take home the Class 1A girls’ title, its first title since 1988.
Redbank Valley won its third straight District 9 Class 2A boys’ championship with a 46-35 win over Clarion.
ECC won its fourth title in five years in District 9 Class 1A with a 50-44 victory over Johnsonburg.
