DISTRICT 9 GOLF CHAIRMAN KEVIN DOVERSPIKE’S REMARKS
A special thanks to the many Punxsutawney Country Club members for their very kind, thoughtful, and overwhelming generosity over the course of the tournament. Today, each golfer, coach, parent/spectator was afforded the opportunity to partake of a bagged lunch during the tournament. Then, afterward, everyone in attendance was able to enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, Mac and cheese, baked beans, chips, and cookies at the pavilion behind Hole# 1 tee box. Plus there were numerous coolers of assorted drinks stationed throughout the course for anyone in attendance.
Also, many, many thanks to Dan Pisarchick, Punxsutawney Country Club PGA Professional, for his professionalism, expertise, and rules knowledge throughout the course of the tournament. He had to make numerous rulings and did so expeditiously and with a great deal of discernment and patience. He was also instrumental in preparing all the leaderboards. They were quite appealing and very well done.
The student-athletes got to experience beautiful weather and played a golf course that was manicured to the level to be expected for championship play, and the atmosphere was 2nd to none.
